Objective

Activities

They can draw pictures and write short descriptions of each event.

  • Map Significant Events: Using the world map, they will locate and mark places where significant basketball events took place, such as the first game in Springfield, Massachusetts, and the locations of famous basketball arenas.

  • Explore Springfield, Massachusetts: They will research the history and geography of Springfield, focusing on its role in the invention of basketball. They can create a mini-poster that includes fun facts about the city.

  • Physical Education - Basketball Skills: Gabriel and Jasmine can practice basic basketball skills such as dribbling, shooting, and passing. They can set up a mini-court in the backyard or living room to have fun while learning.
