Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to practice reading comprehension skills and vocabulary development through engaging with their interest in RuneScape.

Materials and Prep

• Access to a computer or tablet with internet connection
• Pen or pencil
• Paper or notebook

Before the lesson, make sure the student has basic familiarity with RuneScape and its characters.

Activities

1. Reading Quest: Choose an article or a short story related to RuneScape. Have the student read it aloud or silently, depending on their reading level. Encourage them to highlight or underline any unfamiliar words or phrases.

2. Vocabulary Exploration: Ask the student to create a vocabulary list using the unfamiliar words or phrases they identified in the reading. Have them write each word or phrase, its definition, and a sentence using it in context.

3. Character Analysis: Select a character from RuneScape and ask the student to describe the character's traits, motivations, and actions based on their reading. Encourage them to provide evidence from the text to support their analysis.

4. Writing Adventure: Have the student imagine they are a character in RuneScape. Ask them to write a short story or a journal entry describing an adventure they had in the game. Encourage them to use descriptive language and incorporate the vocabulary words they learned.
