Objective

Materials and Prep

  • Counting objects (e.g., blocks, toys, buttons)
  • Number flashcards (0-10)
  • Whiteboard or paper
  • Markers or crayons

Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a basic understanding of counting and recognizing numbers from 0 to 10.

Activities

  1. Counting Fun:

    Take a set of counting objects and practice counting from 1 to 10. Use different objects to make it more interesting.

  2. Number Match:

    Spread out the number flashcards on a table or the floor. Ask the student to find the corresponding number of objects and place them next to each flashcard.

  3. Addition Race:

    Write down two numbers on the whiteboard or paper. Ask the student to count the objects and add them together. Encourage them to do it as quickly as possible, creating a fun race against the clock.
