Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and describe unicorns, understand their magical traits, and create a fun unicorn-themed craft. The lesson will also encourage creativity and imaginative play.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Crayons or markers
- Scissors (with supervision)
- Glue (if available)
- A space to move around for activities
Before the lesson, make sure you have a comfortable space for the activities and that the student knows how to use the scissors safely if they will be used.
Activities
-
Unicorn Story Time:
Read a short story about unicorns or tell a magical tale involving unicorns. Encourage the student to use their imagination to think about what a unicorn might do in different situations.
-
Unicorn Drawing:
Ask the student to draw their own unicorn. They can choose the colors, the size, and even add their own magical elements like sparkles or rainbows!
-
Unicorn Dance Party:
Play some fun music and have a dance party! Pretend to be unicorns dancing in a magical forest. Encourage the student to make up their own unicorn dance moves.
-
Unicorn Craft:
Using the paper, crayons, and scissors, help the student create a unicorn horn to wear or a unicorn puppet. They can decorate it however they like!
