Objective
By the end of this lesson, OllyRoRo will understand the basic types of vehicles, how their engines work, and will have fun exploring different vehicle sounds and movements!
Materials and Prep
- OllyRoRo's favorite toy vehicles (cars, trucks, airplanes, etc.)
- Pillow or soft surface for vehicle 'races'
- Open space for movement activities
- Imagination and a sense of fun!
Before the lesson, make sure the play area is clear and safe for OllyRoRo to explore and play with the vehicles.
Activities
- Vehicle Show and Tell:
OllyRoRo will choose 3-5 toy vehicles and share their names and what they like about each one. This will encourage verbal skills and confidence in sharing.
- Engine Sounds Game:
OllyRoRo will make different engine sounds for each vehicle and guess which vehicle it is. This will help with auditory recognition and creativity!
- Vehicle Races:
Set up a small racing track using pillows. OllyRoRo can race their vehicles and cheer them on, learning about speed and movement.
- Draw Your Vehicle:
OllyRoRo can draw their favorite vehicle and talk about how it moves and what makes it special. This will enhance fine motor skills and creativity.
Talking Points
- "What kind of vehicles do you see around us? Can you name them?"
- "Do you know how a car goes 'vroom'? That's the sound of its engine!"
- "What do you think makes a truck different from a car?"
- "Can you show me how a plane moves? It goes fast and flies high in the sky!"
- "When we race our vehicles, which one do you think will go the fastest? Let's find out!"
