Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will understand the importance of safety measures on a farm and be able to identify at least three safety practices to keep themselves and others safe while working on a farm.

Materials and Prep

• Colored pencils or crayons
• Space for activities (outdoors or indoors)
• Knowledge about basic farm operations (animals, machinery, crops)

Activities

1. Safety Poster Creation

   Have the student draw a poster that shows different safety measures on a farm. They can illustrate things like wearing boots, using tools safely, and being careful around animals. Encourage creativity!

2. Safety Role Play

   Set up a mini farm scenario where the student can act out different roles (like farmer, vet, or tractor driver) and practice safety measures. Discuss what each role needs to do to stay safe.

3. Farm Safety Scavenger Hunt

   Create a scavenger hunt where the student finds items or pictures that represent safety measures on a farm. For example, they can look for pictures of helmets, gloves, or warning signs.
