Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will have a better understanding of different careers, the importance of education in achieving career goals, and how to explore their interests to find a suitable career path for the future.
Materials and Prep
- Paper and colored pencils or markers
- A timer (can use a phone or clock)
- Access to a quiet space for reflection and discussion
- Optional: A computer or tablet for research (if available)
Before the lesson, think about some of the careers you find interesting and be ready to share your thoughts!
Activities

Career Brainstorming: Spend 10 minutes writing down as many careers as you can think of. After that, pick your top three favorites and write down why you find them interesting.

Education Path Map: Create a visual map on paper that shows the steps needed to reach your favorite career. Include education levels, skills you need to learn, and any experiences that could help you.

Interview a Family Member: Choose a family member and ask them about their career. What do they like about it? What challenges do they face? Write down their answers and reflect on what you learned.

Career Day Role Play: Pick one of the careers from your brainstorming session and act it out! Pretend you are in that job for a day and describe what you would do. You can even create a short skit!
