Objective

By the end of this lesson, Maximus will be able to recognize and trace the letters C and K, understand the concept of transportation, and express different emotions. He will also engage in fine motor activities and enjoy outdoor play to enhance his physical skills.

Materials and Prep

• Flashcards with letters C and K
• Clothes pins for fine motor activities
• Books "I Am Brave" and "I Am Fast" by Kate and Jim MacMullan
• Paper for tracing letters
• Outdoor play equipment (swings, slide)

Before starting the lesson, ensure that all materials are ready and that there is a safe outdoor space available for play.

Activities

• Letter Tracing: Maximus will practice tracing the letters C and K on paper. Encourage him to say the letter names as he traces.

• Transportation Discussion: Read about hot air balloons and other modes of transportation. Ask Maximus what he knows about them and what he thinks is the most fun.

• Emotion Flashcards: Use flashcards to identify and discuss different emotions. Maximus can express how he feels and why.

• Fine Motor Challenge: Create a fun game with clothes pins. Maximus can practice pinching and releasing them to strengthen his fingers.

• Outdoor Play: Spend time on the swings and slide to develop gross motor skills, while also enjoying the fresh air!
