Objective

By the end of this lesson plan, Maximus will reinforce his understanding of shapes, practice prewriting skills, enhance his reading readiness with letters M and X, and explore numbers 1-10 through fun activities. Activities

• Shape Exploration: Maximus will identify and create shapes using crayons. He will draw squares and triangles, and then cut them out to make a collage. This will reinforce his understanding of shapes in a fun and creative way.

• Prewriting Practice: Using the boat ride tracing worksheet, Maximus will practice tracing slant and curved lines. This will help him develop his fine motor skills and prepare for writing letters and numbers.

• Counting Fun: Maximus will count and show numbers 1-10 using small toys. He will group the toys and count them out loud, helping him understand quantity and number recognition.

• Transportation Sorting: Using the transportation sort cards, Maximus will categorize vehicles into air, land, and sea. This will teach him about different modes of transportation and enhance his sorting skills.

• SEL Kindness Activity: Together, we will read "Kindness to Share from A to Z" and discuss ways to show kindness. Maximus will then create a kindness card to share with a family member or friend.

• Outdoor Play: Maximus will spend time on the trampoline, swings, and slide, allowing him to enjoy physical activity and socialize with cousins.

• Wall Painting Activity: Maximus will explore wall painting using cardboard and different paint colors, brushes, and rollers. This will encourage creativity and teamwork.

• Field Trip to Disneyland: Maximus will explore different types of transportation at Disneyland, such as trolleys and monorails. He will ride on the Goofy School of Flight roller coaster and the Golden Zephyr, discussing what he sees and learns.
