Objective
By the end of this lesson, Lincoln will understand the key themes and messages presented in Dhar Mann's videos. He will also learn how to express his own thoughts about the lessons and create a short story that conveys a positive message, just like Dhar Mann does.
Materials and Prep
- Access to Dhar Mann's YouTube videos
- Notebook or paper for writing
- Pencil or pen
- A quiet space to watch and think
Before the lesson, make sure Lincoln has access to a device that can play YouTube videos. It would be helpful to have a few Dhar Mann videos selected in advance for viewing.
Activities
-
Watch and Discuss:
Start by watching one or two of Dhar Mann's videos together. After each video, have a discussion about the main message. Ask Lincoln what he thinks the lesson was and how it made him feel.
-
Message Brainstorm:
Ask Lincoln to think of a positive message he would like to share with others, similar to those in the videos. He can write down his ideas in his notebook.
-
Create a Short Story:
Using the message he brainstormed, Lincoln can write a short story that illustrates that lesson. Encourage him to think about characters, a setting, and a conflict that leads to a resolution.
-
Share and Reflect:
Have Lincoln share his story with you. Discuss what he liked about writing it and how he feels it connects to the lessons learned from Dhar Mann's videos.
