Activities

  1. Brainstorming: Start by asking the student to think about what they know or imagine about unicorns. Encourage them to think about their appearance, abilities, and any magical qualities they may have. Have them write or draw their ideas on the blank paper.

  2. Descriptive Writing: Guide the student to choose one aspect of the unicorn they find most interesting. For example, they could focus on the unicorn's appearance, such as its colorful mane or sparkling horn. Ask them to write a descriptive paragraph using adjectives and sensory details to bring their chosen aspect to life.

  3. Creative Storytelling: Now, have the student use their descriptive paragraph as a starting point to write a short story about a unicorn. Encourage them to include a beginning, middle, and end, as well as interesting characters and a problem to solve. Remind them to use proper sentence structure and punctuation.

  4. Sharing and Review: Once the student has finished writing their story, allow them to read it aloud or share it with someone else. Encourage them to listen to feedback and make any necessary revisions to improve their story.
