Objective

By the end of this lesson, Amelia will understand the basics of building and designing in Minecraft, including how to create a simple structure and use different materials creatively.

Materials and Prep

• Minecraft game (on any device)
• Access to the internet (for tutorials if needed)
• A notebook and pencil (for planning ideas)

Before starting the lesson, make sure Minecraft is installed and ready to play. It might be helpful to explore some basic tutorials on building in Minecraft, but we will focus on creativity and fun!

Activities

• Creative Building Challenge:

  Amelia will have 30 minutes to design and build her dream house in Minecraft. She can use any materials she likes and should think about what makes a house special to her.

• Nature Exploration:

  After building her house, Amelia can explore the surrounding area to find different biomes and resources. She can take notes on what materials she finds and how she might use them in her next building project.

• Story Time:

  Amelia will create a short story about her character living in the house she built. She can write down her story or share it verbally. This helps to connect her creative building with storytelling!
