Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will understand the basic concept of sharing and why it is important in friendships. They will be able to identify ways to share and practice sharing through fun activities.
Materials and Prep
- Two small toys or items to share
- Paper and crayons for drawing
- A timer or clock to manage activity time
- Space to move around for activities
Before the lesson, it’s helpful to think about examples of sharing from your own life or stories you can tell to illustrate the concept.
Activities
-
Sharing Circle: Sit in a circle with the toys. Each child takes turns sharing their toy with others and explaining why they like it. This helps them practice speaking and listening.
-
Draw and Share: Have the student draw a picture of something they love. Then, encourage them to share their drawing with you, explaining what it is and why they love it. This promotes communication and sharing of feelings.
-
Sharing Game: Set a timer for 5 minutes. Each child must find something in the room to share with the others. After time is up, they can explain why they chose that item. This encourages creativity and quick thinking!
