Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand the basics of counting from 1 to 10 and recognize the numbers through fun activities and games.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper
  • Crayons or markers
  • Small objects for counting (like buttons, toys, or blocks)

Before the lesson, gather the materials and find a comfortable space for the activities. Make sure the counting objects are safe and easy for the child to handle.

Activities

  • Counting with Objects:

Use the small objects to practice counting. Ask the student to pick up a certain number of objects and count them out loud together.

  • Number Drawing:

Have the student draw numbers 1 to 10 on paper using crayons or markers. Encourage them to decorate each number with fun designs.

  • Number Hunt:

Hide the small objects around the room and ask the student to find them. Once they find an object, they should count it and say the number out loud.

  • Sing Counting Songs:

Sing simple counting songs together, like "Five Little Ducks" or "Ten in the Bed," to make learning numbers fun and engaging.
