Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand and identify the basic concept of numbers, counting from 1 to 10, and recognize their importance in everyday life.
Materials and Prep
For this lesson, no additional materials are required. However, it would be helpful for the teacher to be familiar with counting songs and simple counting games to engage the student effectively.
Activities
-
Counting with Fingers: Start by showing the student how to count using their fingers. Count from 1 to 10 together, making sure to point to each finger as you count.
-
Number Song: Sing a fun counting song, like "Five Little Ducks" or "Ten in the Bed." Encourage the student to sing along and do the actions that go with the song.
-
Counting Objects: Ask the student to find 10 small toys or objects around the house. Help them count each one as they gather them together.
-
Number Art: Draw numbers 1 to 10 on a piece of paper. The student can color them in or decorate them with stickers or drawings to make them fun and colorful!
