Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand the basics of planning a fun activity, including setting a goal, choosing materials, and outlining steps to complete the activity.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Crayons or markers
- A timer (optional)
- A comfortable space to sit and create
Before the lesson, think about a fun activity you want to plan, like making a special snack or creating a craft. This will help guide the lesson!
Activities
-
Activity 1: Brainstorming Fun Ideas
Start by sitting together and thinking of fun activities. Ask the student, "What do you love to do?" Write down their ideas on paper.
-
Activity 2: Drawing the Plan
Once you have an idea, ask the student to draw what they want to do. For example, if they want to make a sandwich, they can draw the sandwich and the ingredients!
-
Activity 3: Making a List
Help the student make a list of the things they need for their activity. If they drew a sandwich, they might list bread, cheese, and lettuce!
-
Activity 4: Time to Create!
Now it’s time to do the activity! Set a timer if you want to make it exciting. Encourage the student to follow their plan and have fun!
