Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and name different animals, understand their sounds, and recognize where they live. The student will also develop their listening and speaking skills through fun activities.

Materials and Prep

  • No specific materials are needed for this lesson.
  • Prepare a quiet and comfortable space for the activities.
  • Be ready to demonstrate animal sounds and movements!

Activities

  • Animal Sounds Game: Take turns making animal sounds and see if the student can guess which animal it is. You can also ask the student to mimic the sound back to you!

  • Animal Movement Charades: Act out different animals and have the student guess which one you are. Encourage them to join in and act out their favorite animals too!

  • Where Do Animals Live?: Talk about where different animals live (like the jungle, ocean, or farm), and ask the student to pretend to be an animal in its habitat.

  • Animal Story Time: Create a short story together about an animal adventure. Let the student choose the animal and the setting!

Talking Points

  • "What sound does a cow make? That's right! It goes 'moo'!"
  • "Can you pretend to be a hopping bunny? Show me how you hop!"
  • "Do you know where a lion lives? Yes, in the jungle!"
  • "Let's make up a story about a little bird flying in the sky. What happens next?"
