Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand the concept of sharing and the importance of taking turns while playing with friends and family.
Materials and Prep
- Two small toys (like action figures or stuffed animals)
- A timer or clock (to time the turns)
- A comfortable space to play
Before the lesson, make sure the toys are clean and ready to use. Set up the play area where the student can easily access the toys and where you can both sit comfortably.
Activities
-
Toy Sharing Game
Take turns playing with the two toys. Set a timer for one minute, and when the timer goes off, switch toys. This will help the student learn how to share and wait for their turn.
-
Story Time
Read a short story about sharing or taking turns. Discuss the characters and how they shared or waited for their turn in the story.
-
Role Play
Act out a scenario where one toy wants to play with the other. Discuss how they can share and take turns, using the toys to demonstrate the concept.
Talking Points
- "What does it mean to share? It means we let others play with our toys too!"
- "Why is it fun to take turns? Because we can all play together and have a good time!"
- "Can you show me how you would share your toy with me?"
- "When we wait for our turn, we are being kind and patient, just like in our story!"
