Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will learn about the concept of sharing and how it is important to share toys and playtime with friends.

Materials and Prep

  • A variety of toys (blocks, dolls, cars, etc.)
  • A comfortable space for playtime
  • Optional: A timer to help with turn-taking

Before the lesson, make sure the play area is safe and free from distractions. You can also choose a few favorite toys to focus on sharing.

Activities

  • Sharing Circle: Sit in a circle with the toys. Each child can pick one toy and share why they like it and how they would like to play with it. After sharing, they can pass it to a friend to play with.

  • Turn-Taking Game: Use a timer to set short intervals for each child to play with a toy. When the timer goes off, they pass the toy to the next child. This helps them understand taking turns.

  • Story Time: Read a short story about sharing. Discuss the characters and how sharing made them happy. Ask questions like, "How do you think they felt when they shared?"

Talking Points

  • "What does it mean to share? It means we let our friends play with our toys!"
  • "How do you feel when someone shares with you? Happy, right?"
  • "When we take turns, everyone gets a chance to play. Isn’t that fun?"
  • "Sharing can make playtime more exciting! Let’s see how we can share today!"
