Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will understand the concept of sharing and caring by exploring the importance of friendship and cooperation through fun activities.

Materials and Prep

  • Colorful paper
  • Crayons or markers
  • Small toys or stuffed animals
  • Space for activities (indoor or outdoor)
  • A timer (optional)

Before the lesson, think about some examples of sharing and friendship from your own life to share with the student. Prepare a small area for activities where the student can freely move around.

Activities

  • Friendship Circle: Gather in a circle and have each person say something nice about the person next to them. This helps the student learn to appreciate friends.
  • Sharing Toys: Have the student choose a toy to share with you. Take turns playing with the toy and talk about how fun it is to share.
  • Coloring Together: Sit together with colorful paper and crayons. Encourage the student to draw something that represents friendship, like two friends holding hands.
  • Acting Out Sharing: Use stuffed animals or toys to act out a short story where the characters share something. This makes learning fun and interactive.

Talking Points

  • "What does it mean to share? Can you tell me a time when you shared something?"
  • "Friends are special! How do you feel when someone is nice to you?"
  • "Why is it fun to play together? Can you think of a game we can play with our toys?"
  • "When we share, we make others happy. How can we make our friends happy today?"
