- Crayons or markers
- Small toys or objects for counting (like blocks or buttons)
- Optional: A timer (for game activities)
Before the lesson, ensure you have a quiet space for activities and that the student is ready to learn and play!
Activities
-
Counting with Toys:
Gather small toys or objects and have the student count them out loud. Start with 1-10 and encourage them to touch each object as they count.
-
Number Drawing:
Have the student draw numbers 1-10 on paper. They can decorate each number with colors and stickers to make it fun!
-
Number Hunt:
Hide numbers (you can write them on pieces of paper) around the room. Ask the student to find them and bring them back to you, counting them as they go.
-
Number Songs:
Sing songs that include counting, like "Five Little Ducks" or "Ten in the Bed." Use hand motions to make it interactive!
