By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and name different colors, recognize them in their surroundings, and express their favorite colors through simple activities.
Materials and Prep
- Colorful objects from around the house (toys, clothes, books, etc.)
- Paper and crayons or markers (if available)
- A comfortable space to sit and play
Before the lesson, gather colorful objects that the student can easily see and touch. Make sure the area is safe and inviting for exploration and creativity.

-
Color Sorting: Use the gathered colorful objects to sort them by color. Create piles or groups for each color and talk about the colors as you sort.
-
Color Drawing: If paper and crayons or markers are available, encourage the student to draw their favorite color or create a colorful picture using all the colors they learned about.
-
Color Songs: Sing simple songs that include colors, like "Red and Yellow, Green and Blue," to make learning fun and memorable.

- "Look at this red toy! Can you say 'red'?"
- "What color is this? Let's find more things that are the same color!"
- "Can you show me something blue? Great job!"
- "What is your favorite color? Mine is blue! Let's draw something with that color!"
