Objective

Materials and Prep

  • Colorful building blocks or toys
  • Paper and crayons
  • Musical instruments (like a tambourine or maracas)
  • Space for movement and play

Before the lesson, ensure that the play area is safe and free from distractions. Familiarize yourself with the student's interests to incorporate them into activities.

Activities

  • Block Patterns:

    Using colorful building blocks, the student will create patterns by alternating colors or shapes. Encourage them to describe the patterns they make!

  • Creative Drawing:

    Provide paper and crayons for the student to draw their favorite things. Ask them to use different colors and shapes to express their ideas.

  • Musical Movement:

    Play some music and encourage the student to dance. Introduce simple rhythms with instruments and ask them to clap or stomp along!
