Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and describe different types of animals, their habitats, and some of their characteristics. The student will also engage in fun activities to reinforce learning.

Materials and Prep

  • Think of a few fun animal facts to share.

Activities

  • Animal Sounds Game: The student will take turns making animal sounds while the other guesses which animal it is. This will help with recognition and understanding of different animals.

  • Animal Charades: Act out different animals without using words, and have the student guess which animal is being portrayed. This encourages creativity and physical activity.

  • Story Time: Read a short story about animals, discussing the different animals and where they live. This can spark imagination and improve listening skills.

  • Animal Drawing: The student can draw their favorite animal and share why they like it. This activity promotes fine motor skills and self-expression.
