Activities

  1. Color Hunt: Go around the house or yard and look for items of different colors. The student can call out the color of each item they find.

  2. Color Dance Party: Play some music and dance! When the music stops, call out a color and the student has to freeze and point to something of that color.

  3. Color Sorting Game: Use different colored objects (like toys or household items) and have the student sort them into groups by color.

Talking Points

  • "What color is this? Can you find something else that is the same color?"
  • "Let’s dance! When I say 'red', can you show me something red?"
  • "Great job sorting! Why do you think these belong together?"
  • "Colors are everywhere! Can you name your favorite color?"
