Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to recognize and name different colors, understand the concept of mixing colors, and create a simple color wheel using their imagination.
Materials and Prep
- No materials are needed for this lesson; we will use our imagination!
- Be ready to talk about colors and how they mix together.
Activities
-
Color Hunt:
Go around the house or outside and find objects of different colors. Ask the student to name each color they find.
-
Color Mixing Game:
Use your imagination to mix colors! Ask the student what happens when you mix blue and yellow. Encourage them to say "green!"
-
Imaginative Color Wheel:
Have the student create their own color wheel in their mind. Ask them to think of a color and describe what it looks like and what it reminds them of.
Talking Points
- "What color is this? Can you find something in the room that is this color?"
- "When we mix blue and yellow, what do we get? That's right, green! Isn't that fun?"
- "Imagine your favorite color. What do you think it would taste like or smell like?"
- "Can you tell me what colors you see in the rainbow? Let's name them together!"
