Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to recognize and name different colors, as well as identify objects around them that match those colors. They will also engage in fun activities that enhance their understanding of colors through play and creativity.
Materials and Prep
- Colorful paper (red, blue, yellow, green, etc.)
- Crayons or markers in various colors
- Everyday objects around the house (toys, fruits, clothes)
- Space for drawing and playing
Before the lesson, gather all colorful items and ensure the student understands the basic colors. Prepare a fun area for activities where the student can freely explore and create.
Activities
-
Color Hunt:
Go on a color hunt around the house! Ask the student to find objects of specific colors. For example, "Can you find something red?" Celebrate each find with excitement!
-
Colorful Drawing:
Provide the student with colorful paper and crayons. Encourage them to draw their favorite things using as many colors as possible. Ask them to name the colors they use as they draw.
-
Color Mixing:
Using two colors, show the student how to mix them together to create a new color. For example, mix red and yellow to make orange. Let them see and name the new color!
