Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and describe their favorite animal, understand basic facts about it, and express why they like it. This will help develop their speaking and critical thinking skills.

Materials and Prep

  • No materials needed, just your imagination and voice!
  • Be ready to ask questions and encourage the student to share their thoughts.

Activities

  • Animal Show and Tell: Ask the student to pick their favorite animal and talk about it. They can share what it looks like, where it lives, and why they like it. Encourage them to use their imagination!

  • Animal Sounds Game: Play a game where you make animal sounds and the student guesses the animal. Then switch roles! This helps them connect sounds to animals.

  • Draw Your Favorite Animal: Have the student draw their favorite animal. While they draw, ask them questions about it, like what it eats or where it lives. This encourages creativity and expression.

Talking Points

  • "What is your favorite animal? Can you tell me why you like it?"
  • "Do you know what sound your animal makes? Let's try to make that sound together!"
  • "Where does your animal live? Is it in the jungle, the ocean, or maybe in your backyard?"
  • "Can you draw your animal for me? What colors do you see on it?"
