Objective

By the end of this lesson, Abbie will have a deeper understanding of the characters and themes in "Battle for Dream Island" (BFDI). She will create her own character and storyline inspired by the show, enhancing her creativity and storytelling skills.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper
  • Pencils or colored pencils
  • Access to "Battle for Dream Island" episodes (if available for reference)
  • A quiet space for brainstorming and drawing

Before the lesson, it’s helpful to have Abbie watch a few episodes of BFDI to refresh her memory about the characters and the show’s themes.

Activities

  • Character Creation: Abbie will design her own character inspired by BFDI. She can choose an everyday object, like a book or a toy, and give it a personality. Encourage her to think about what makes her character unique and what challenges they might face in the competition.

  • Storyline Development: After creating her character, Abbie will write a short story about her character's journey in a BFDI-style competition. She can include challenges, friendships, and rivalries, just like in the show.

  • Character Showdown: Abbie can create a mini comic strip or storyboard featuring her character competing against a favorite character from BFDI. This activity will help her visualize the story and practice her drawing skills.

  • Discussion Time: At the end of the activities, Abbie will share her character and story with you. This will encourage her to articulate her ideas and receive constructive feedback.
