Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will understand the concept of dream boards, create their own dream board, and learn how to set goals based on their dreams and aspirations. This will help them visualize their future and motivate them to work towards their goals.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper (any type, like plain or colored)
  • Pens, pencils, or markers
  • Magazines or printed images (optional for cutting out pictures)
  • Glue or tape (if using images)
  • Scissors (if using images)
  • A quiet space to work

Before starting the lesson, it’s helpful to think about what dreams and goals are important to you. Consider areas like personal growth, hobbies, career aspirations, and travel. This will make the creation of your dream board more meaningful!

Activities

  • Introduction to Dream Boards:

Begin with a discussion about what a dream board is and why it can be a powerful tool. Explain that it’s a visual representation of their goals and dreams, helping to inspire and motivate them.

  • Brainstorming Session:

Spend some time brainstorming ideas for what to include on the dream board. Encourage the student to think about different aspects of their life, such as education, travel, personal achievements, and hobbies.

  • Creating the Dream Board:

Using the materials provided, have the student create their dream board. They can draw, write, or cut out images that represent their dreams and goals. Remind them to be creative and have fun with this process!

  • Sharing and Reflection:

Once the dream board is complete, encourage the student to share their board with you. Ask them to explain why they chose each item and how it relates to their goals. This reflection helps solidify their intentions.
