Materials and Prep

Activities
- Warm-up: Watch the movie "In Runs in My Blood Lines" and take note of any interesting or memorable lines of dialogue.
- Identifying Parts of Speech: Choose three lines from the movie that stood out to you and write them down. Underline or highlight the different parts of speech in each sentence. For example, nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, etc.
- Grammar Analysis: Select one of the sentences you identified in the previous activity and analyze its grammar. Determine the subject, verb, and any additional components such as direct objects, indirect objects, or modifiers.
- Creating Sentence Variations: Take one of the sentences from the movie and rewrite it using a different sentence structure. For example, change a simple sentence to a compound sentence or vice versa. Be sure to maintain the original meaning.
- Writing Dialogue: Imagine a new scene for the movie and write a short dialogue between two characters. Use correct punctuation and formatting for dialogue.
