Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to engage in physical activities outside while learning about health and physical education.
Materials and Prep
- Comfortable clothing and shoes
- A safe outdoor space
- A water bottle
Before starting the lesson, make sure you have enough space to move around safely and stay hydrated throughout the activities.
Activities
-
Warm-up: Start by jogging or briskly walking around the outdoor space for 5 minutes. This will help get your heart rate up and prepare your body for physical activity.
-
Obstacle Course: Set up an obstacle course using objects you can find outside, such as cones, hula hoops, or jump ropes. Create challenges like jumping over hurdles, crawling under a makeshift tunnel, or balancing on a beam. Time yourself and see if you can improve your speed and agility with each attempt.
-
Fitness Circuit: Create a circuit with different exercise stations. For example, you can have stations for jumping jacks, push-ups, squats, and lunges. Spend 1 minute at each station, performing as many repetitions as you can. Take a short break between stations and repeat the circuit 3 times.
-
Cool-down: Finish the lesson by stretching your muscles. Perform gentle stretches for your arms, legs, and back. Take deep breaths and relax your body.
