Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will understand key pool safety rules, recognize potential hazards around pools, and be able to demonstrate safe behaviors while enjoying the water.

  • Be prepared to discuss personal experiences with pools and any safety rules that may have been learned before.

Activities

  • Pool Safety Role Play:

    The student will act out different scenarios involving pool safety, such as a friend diving in without checking the water depth. Discuss what the characters should do to stay safe.

  • Safety Sign Creation:

    The student will create their own pool safety signs using simple drawings and words. This will help reinforce the importance of safety reminders.

  • Pool Safety Quiz:

    Conduct a fun quiz with questions about pool safety rules. The student can answer verbally, and you can discuss the answers together to reinforce learning.
