Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify how daily and seasonal changes in the environment affect humans and other living things, using simple examples from nature and their daily life.
Materials and Prep
- None required!
Before the lesson, take a moment to observe the environment around you. Look at the weather, the plants, and any animals you might see. This will help make the lesson more engaging!
Activities
-
Nature Walk: Take a short walk outside to observe the changes in the environment. Look at the trees, flowers, and any animals. Ask questions like, "What do you see?" and "How do you think the weather affects these plants?"
-
Weather Chart: Create a simple weather chart together. Each day, draw a picture of the weather (sunny, rainy, snowy) and talk about how it feels and what people or animals do in that weather.
-
Seasons Collage: Make a collage using drawings or cutouts of things you see in different seasons. Discuss how each season affects people, animals, and plants.
-
Story Time: Read a short story about a plant or animal and how it changes with the seasons. Discuss how these changes help them survive.
Talking Points
- "Look at the trees! In summer, they are full of green leaves. What do you think happens in winter?"
- "When it rains, how do you think the flowers feel? Do they like the water?"
- "In winter, some animals sleep a lot. Why do you think they do that?"
- "When it's sunny, we wear different clothes. What do you like to wear when it's hot?"
- "Seasons change, just like how we change our activities! What fun things do you do in different seasons?"
