Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to read and understand a short story about Pokemon characters.
Materials and Prep
- Pokemon book or printed Pokemon story
- Pencil or crayon
- Printed Pokemon coloring pages (optional)
Activities
-
Start by showing the student the Pokemon book or printed story. Ask them to look at the cover and make predictions about what the story might be about.
-
Read the story aloud to the student, pausing occasionally to ask comprehension questions. Encourage the student to follow along with their finger as you read.
-
After reading the story, ask the student to retell the main events or summarize the story in their own words. This will help assess their understanding of the text.
-
Give the student a pencil or crayon and ask them to draw their favorite Pokemon character from the story. They can also color the printed Pokemon coloring pages if available.
-
Have a discussion with the student about their favorite part of the story and why they liked it. Encourage them to use descriptive words to express their thoughts.
