Objective

By the end of this lesson, Daniella and Alisia will be able to recall their experiences from a Christmas market by describing what they did, saw, heard, and enjoyed. They will express their thoughts creatively through art and writing.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper (for drawing and writing)
  • Colored pencils or crayons
  • A quiet space for reflection and creativity
  • Optional: A timer (to keep track of activity times)

Before the lesson, encourage Daniella and Alisia to think about their favorite memories from the Christmas market. Ask them to remember specific details to make their artwork and writing more vivid.

Activities

  • Memory Brainstorm

Start with a brainstorming session where Daniella and Alisia can share their memories from the Christmas market. Ask them to think about what they did, saw, heard, and enjoyed. Write down their thoughts on a piece of paper to use later.

  • Art Creation

Using their colored pencils or crayons, have them create a drawing that represents their favorite part of the Christmas market. This could be a beautiful stall, a moment with friends, or a fun activity they did. Encourage them to use lots of colors!

  • Story Writing

After completing their artwork, ask Daniella and Alisia to write a short story about their experience at the Christmas market. They can use the brainstormed notes as a guide to help them remember details to include in their story.

  • Sharing Time

Finally, have a sharing session where they can present their artwork and read their stories aloud. This will help build their confidence and allow them to celebrate their creativity together.

Talking Points

  • "What was your favorite thing to do at the Christmas market? Think about what made you smile!"
  • "Can you describe what you saw? Were there any bright lights or special decorations?"
  • "What sounds do you remember? Did you hear music, laughter, or the sound of people chatting?"
  • "Which part of the market did you enjoy the most? Was it the yummy food, the games, or something else?"
  • "How can we use colors in our art to show how we felt at the market?"
  • "What words can we use in our story to make it exciting? Let’s think of some fun adjectives!"
  • "Why is it important to share our memories with others? It helps us remember and connect!"
  • "How can we make our drawings and stories unique, just like our experiences?"
