Objective
By the end of this lesson, Harper-Rose will be able to understand basic concepts of building and creativity in Minecraft, while also learning about teamwork and problem-solving through fun activities related to the game.
Materials and Prep
- Minecraft (game access on any device)
- Paper and pencil for planning builds
- Timer (optional for timed challenges)
Before the lesson, ensure that Minecraft is installed and accessible. Prepare a comfortable workspace for Harper-Rose to play and create.
Activities
- Creative Building Challenge: Harper-Rose will have 30 minutes to build her dream house in Minecraft. She can use any materials she likes and be as creative as she wants!
- Resource Hunt: Create a scavenger hunt where Harper-Rose needs to find specific resources in the game, like wood, stone, and diamonds.
- Teamwork Project: If possible, invite a friend or family member to join in a multiplayer game. Together, they can build a castle or a park.
Encourage her to think about what she wants in her house. Does she want a swimming pool? A secret room? This is her chance to be the architect!
This activity will teach her how to gather resources and manage her inventory effectively. Set a timer for added excitement!
This will help Harper-Rose learn about teamwork and communication as they plan and build something together.
