Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will understand the basic concepts of government and citizenship, and how they relate to our daily lives. You will also be able to identify the roles and responsibilities of citizens in a democracy.
Materials and Prep
- Lego bricks

Activities
- Build a Lego City: Use your Lego bricks to create a small city. Include buildings, roads, and different areas like parks or schools. As you build, think about how the different parts of a city work together.
- Role-Play Government: Assign roles to different Lego figures in your city. For example, one figure can be the mayor, another can be a police officer, and so on. Act out scenarios where the government figures make decisions or solve problems.
- Write Laws and Rules: Imagine you are the mayor of your Lego City. Write down three laws or rules that you think would be important for your citizens to follow. Consider what would make your city a safe and fair place to live.
