Objective
By the end of this lesson, Ayat will be able to recognize the number 3, count to 3, and associate the number with groups of three objects. This will help Ayat develop a foundational understanding of numbers and counting.
Materials and Prep
- No specific materials are needed, just your voice and imagination!
- Be ready to use everyday objects around the house for counting.
- Think of fun ways to group things in sets of three.
Activities
-
Counting with Fingers:
Hold up three fingers and count them together. Encourage Ayat to do the same with her own fingers. This helps her visualize the number 3.
-
Three Objects Hunt:
Go around the house and find three of something (like three toys, three spoons, etc.). Count them together and say, "Look, we found three!"
-
Three Animal Sounds:
Choose three animals and make their sounds together. For example, "Let's be three dogs! Woof! Woof! Woof!" This makes learning fun and engaging.
-
Three Jumping Jacks:
Do three jumping jacks together while counting out loud. This incorporates movement and helps Ayat associate the number with physical activity.
Talking Points
- "Can you show me three fingers? One, two, three! Great job!"
- "Let's count these three toys together. One, two, three! How many do we have?"
- "What sound does a dog make? Let's do three dog sounds together! Woof! Woof! Woof!"
- "Jump with me! Let's do three jumping jacks! One, two, three! Yay!"
