Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to read instructions from a Minecraft builds book and successfully create a designated build in Minecraft on Xbox.

Materials and Prep

• Minecraft Builds Book
• Xbox Console with Minecraft installed
• Notebook and pencil for taking notes
• Comfortable gaming space

Before the lesson, make sure the Xbox is set up and Minecraft is ready to play. Familiarize yourself with the controls of Minecraft if you haven't already.

Activities

• Reading the Build Instructions

  Start by picking a build from the Minecraft builds book. Read the instructions together, discussing the materials needed and the steps involved in the build. This will help you understand what you need to do in the game!

• Planning the Build

  Use your notebook to jot down the key steps for the build. Draw a simple sketch of what you want to create. This will help you visualize the project before you start building in the game.

• Building in Minecraft

  Now it's time to hop into Minecraft! Follow the instructions from the book and your notes to create the build on Xbox. Remember to take your time and have fun with it!

• Show and Tell

  Once the build is complete, take some time to walk around your creation in Minecraft. You can even take screenshots to share with friends or family. Explain what you built and how you followed the instructions.
