Objective
By the end of this lesson, RR will improve their handwriting skills by practicing letter formation, spacing, and overall neatness. RR will also learn how to express creativity through writing fun sentences and short stories.
Materials and Prep
- Paper (lined or unlined)
- Pencil or pen
- Colored pencils or crayons (optional for decoration)
Before the lesson, ensure that RR is comfortable with holding a writing instrument. Review the basic strokes of letters and how to sit properly while writing to promote good posture.
Activities
- Letter Formation Practice: Start with a warm-up by writing each letter of the alphabet in both uppercase and lowercase. RR can say the letter names out loud as they write them to reinforce learning.
- Word Writing Challenge: Choose a few fun words (like "unicorn" or "dinosaur") and have RR write them multiple times. Encourage them to focus on neatness and spacing between letters.
- Sentence Creation: Have RR create a silly sentence using their favorite words. For example, "The unicorn danced on a rainbow!" They can write it in their best handwriting and illustrate it with drawings.
- Handwriting Art: RR can write a short poem or a favorite quote in fancy handwriting and decorate the page with drawings or colors. This will make their writing feel special!
