Objective

Materials and Prep

Before the lesson, ensure that Minecraft is installed and updated. Familiarize yourself with the basic controls and game mechanics if you're new to the game.

Activities

  • World Creation:

    Start by creating a new world in Minecraft. Choose between Survival or Creative mode. Discuss the differences and decide which mode feels more exciting to explore first.

  • Building a Shelter:

    In your new world, gather materials like wood and stone. Build a simple shelter to protect yourself from nighttime mobs. This activity will teach you about resource gathering and basic building techniques.

  • Crafting Tools:

    Learn how to craft basic tools such as a wooden pickaxe and axe. Explain the importance of using the right tools for different tasks in the game.

  • Exploration:

    Take some time to explore your world. Look for interesting biomes, animals, and resources. Discuss what you find and how it can be useful for building and crafting.

  • Creative Challenge:

    Set a timer for 10 minutes and challenge yourself to build something unique, like a treehouse or a castle. Use your imagination and creativity to make it special!
