Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will research the growing zone for Maryland, identify when to start various seeds indoors, and create a visual guide (graph or table) to plan for planting a spring garden.

  • Graph paper or plain paper for creating a table/graph

  • Seed Research

    Next, the student will go through the seed packets and research when each type of seed should be started indoors. They can note down the information for each seed type.

    The student will learn about the best methods for starting seeds indoors. They can compare different techniques, such as using seed trays or pots, and decide which one they want to use.

  • Create a Planting Guide

    Finally, the student will create a graph or table that shows when to start each type of seed. This guide will help them keep track of their planting schedule for the spring garden.
