Materials and Prep

Activities

  1. Explore the Minecraft world

    Start Minecraft and enter a new or existing world. Spend some time exploring the different biomes, landmarks, and geographical features. Take note of interesting locations that catch your attention.

  2. Create a geographical map

    Using the information gathered during your exploration, create a map of the Minecraft world. Include key features such as mountains, rivers, deserts, and forests. Use symbols or colors to represent different types of terrain.

  3. Research real-world equivalents

    Select a few locations from your Minecraft map and research their real-world equivalents. Find out if they resemble any specific places on Earth. Identify the biome, climate, and other geographical characteristics of those locations.

  4. Compare and contrast

    Compare the real-world locations you researched with their Minecraft counterparts. Discuss the similarities and differences in terms of geography, climate, and human impact. Reflect on how Minecraft represents the diversity of our planet.
