Objective

By the end of these 10 lesson plans, Jeniffer and Dominique will have developed a deeper understanding of various subjects through engaging activities and discussions. They will enhance their critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills while enjoying the learning process.

Materials and Prep

  • Access to the Canva workbook linked above
  • Pens and colored markers
  • Notebooks for journaling
  • Printouts of selected pages from the workbook
  • Basic art supplies (scissors, glue, etc.)
  • Timer for timed activities
  • Space for group discussions and activities

Activities

  1. Creative Storytelling: Using prompts from the workbook, Jeniffer and Dominique will create a short story together. They can take turns writing sentences and illustrating scenes.

  2. Artistic Expression: Select a theme from the workbook and create a collage or drawing that represents that theme. They can use cutouts, drawings, and other materials to express their ideas.

  3. Group Discussions: After completing a section of the workbook, hold a discussion about the key concepts. Encourage them to share their thoughts and ask questions.

  4. Role-Playing: Choose a scenario from the workbook and have them act it out. This will help them understand different perspectives and develop empathy.

  5. Mind Mapping: Create a mind map based on a topic from the workbook. This visual representation will help them organize their thoughts and understand relationships between concepts.

  6. Quiz Time: After completing a section, create a fun quiz based on what they learned. They can quiz each other to reinforce knowledge.

  7. Outdoor Learning: Take an activity from the workbook outside. This could be a nature walk where they observe and document their findings related to a topic.

  8. Creative Presentations: Have them prepare a short presentation on a topic from the workbook. They can use visuals and practice their public speaking skills.

  9. Reflection Journals: At the end of each lesson, they will write a reflection about what they learned and how they felt about the activities.

  10. Fun Challenges: Set up mini-challenges related to the workbook topics, such as timed drawing or quick-fire questions to keep the lessons engaging.
