Objective

By the end of this lesson, Mahrley will understand basic concepts of building and creativity in Minecraft. Mahrley will create a simple structure in Minecraft and learn how to use different blocks and tools effectively.

Materials and Prep

• Minecraft game (on any platform)
• A comfortable place to play
• A notebook and pencil for jotting down ideas

Before the lesson, make sure Minecraft is installed and ready to play. Encourage Mahrley to think about what kind of structure he wants to build during the lesson.

Activities

• Creative Mode Exploration

  Start the lesson by exploring Minecraft in Creative Mode. Mahrley can fly around and look at different biomes and structures. This will inspire ideas for his own building project.

• Design Your Structure

  Using the notebook, Mahrley can sketch out a design for a house or a castle. Encourage him to think about what materials he wants to use and how big he wants his structure to be.

• Building Time!

  Now it’s time to build! Mahrley can use the materials he has chosen to create his structure in the game. Remind him to have fun and be creative!

• Show and Tell

  After building, Mahrley can show off his creation to you. He can explain what he built, what materials he used, and why he made certain choices.
