Materials and Prep

  • Paper and colored pencils or markers
  • Printed images of various traffic signs (if available) or drawn by Ysabell
  • A quiet space for discussion and activities
  • Knowledge of basic traffic rules and signs (to be discussed during the lesson)

Activities

  • Traffic Sign Art:

Ysabell will create her own traffic signs using paper and colored pencils. She can choose to replicate real signs or invent her own, explaining the meaning behind each sign she creates.

  • Sign Matching Game:

Using printed images of traffic signs, Ysabell will match signs with their meanings. This activity will help reinforce her understanding of what each sign represents.

  • Road Safety Role Play:

Ysabell can engage in a role-play scenario where she acts as a driver or a pedestrian. She will practice responding to different traffic signs and discuss what actions are required in each situation.

  • Traffic Sign Quiz:

Ysabell can take a fun quiz where she identifies signs and explains their meanings. This can be done verbally or on paper, making it a fun challenge!

  • "Let’s think about how we can create our own signs. What message would you want to communicate to drivers?"
