Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will learn about butterflies, their life cycle, and will express their understanding through art and storytelling. The student will also enhance their vocabulary and creativity by engaging in fun activities related to butterflies.
Materials and Prep
- Paper (any type)
- Crayons or colored pencils
- Scissors (with adult supervision)
- Glue (optional)
- Access to a comfortable space for activities
Before the lesson, it’s helpful to know some basic facts about butterflies, such as their life cycle (egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly) and some common types of butterflies.
Activities

Butterfly Life Cycle Drawing:
The student will draw the four stages of a butterfly's life cycle on a piece of paper. They can use crayons or colored pencils to make it colorful and fun!

Butterfly Story Creation:
The student will create a short story about a butterfly. They can write or dictate their story, using their imagination to describe the butterfly's adventures.

Butterfly Craft:
Using the paper, the student will cut out butterfly shapes and decorate them with colors and patterns. They can glue them onto another piece of paper to create a butterfly garden.
