Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and differentiate between boys and girls based on common characteristics, names, and activities. The student will also learn to appreciate the uniqueness of each gender.

Materials and Prep

  • No special materials are needed for this lesson. Just a willingness to learn and have fun!
  • Prepare a list of common names for boys and girls to use during activities.
  • Think of examples of activities or toys that are often associated with boys and girls.

Activities

  • Name Game:

Start by saying a name and ask the student if they think it is a boy's name or a girl's name. Discuss why they think so, and share more names as examples.

  • Character Creation:

Have the student create their own character, choosing whether it is a boy or girl. They can draw the character and describe what they like to do, what they wear, and what their favorite toys are.

  • Activity Sorting:

List different activities (like playing soccer, cooking, or painting) and ask the student to sort them into 'Boys' or 'Girls' categories. Discuss how anyone can enjoy any activity!

  • "Boys can wear pink, and girls can play sports! What do you think about that?"
  • "Let’s create a character! What do you want your character to be like? Boys and girls can be anything they dream!"
  • "Why is it important to treat everyone the same, no matter if they are a boy or a girl?"
