Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Crayons or colored pencils
- A comfortable space to sit and draw
- A quiet place to read or tell stories
Before the lesson, think about some of your favorite animals you might see at the zoo. You can also remember any fun facts you know about these animals!
Activities
-
Animal Drawing:
Start by picking your favorite zoo animal. Use the paper and crayons to draw that animal. Make it as colorful and fun as you can!
-
Story Time:
After drawing, create a short story about your animal. What adventures do they have at the zoo? You can either write it down or tell it out loud!
-
Animal Sounds Game:
Think of the sounds your animal makes. Can you make that sound? Try to guess the sounds of other zoo animals too!
-
Habitat Exploration:
Talk about where your animal lives in the zoo. Is it in a jungle, desert, or a water area? Draw a picture of their habitat!
